First Of Summer

Posted: January 7, 2011 in APS

Let’s go back in time. Elementary days, High School days, summer time.

Everyone’s so giddy about what lies ahead. Unsure of what’s gonna happen next but excited of the possibilities of a great season.

Who? What? Where? When? How.These are the questions that lingers in our minds after the last day of school and it’s time for vacation. But what about my classmates? Will I see them again next school year? How about my allowance? How am I gonna spend for all the parties and gimiks and nice clothes I’d always wanting and wanted to buy?

But just like the first day of summer, you just have got to let go of any worries because this is the time of the year when we are supposed to be having fun. Sure, it’s difficult to leave our mates that we have known for some time now; difficult to go out there without any allowance to depend on for all the expenses that comes with it. But this is summer. Go dive right in. Everything will just fall into its proper place.

And so it did. Come the first day of training, we had filled up the classroom with more than 20 awesome people. I can still remember their faces when we all first met. I was excited but nervous at the same time. What did I do? I smiled it away and just dived right in. And rightfully so, everything fell into its proper places.

And now, summer’s almost over. I will for surely remember and treasure all the reminders and encouragements from our gay (meaning happy) parents – Toni, Paige, and Rona; the maturity and discipline of Ryan; the memory and knowledge of Ron; Denius who’s always game and genius; Mau‘s stories about her digital camera and excitement about the new account; Marie‘s smile that would always tell you that everything is going to be alright; Chema‘s awesomeness and unmatched energy; Pennymervic‘s sweetness and wit; Tina and Carmee‘s tandem especially during KC (*wink, good job); Mimi‘s patience and dedication; Vaneh‘s professionalism and commitment; Glen‘s unique humor; the serious and sensible Rina; Jason‘s efforts to strive for nothing but the best and being a team player; Jhuzt‘s perseverance in getting better at what she does; Tin‘s jolly and care-free attitude; Vicky‘s enthusiasm; Aileen‘s no non-sense demeanor; Sam‘s braveness; Tess‘ open-mindedness; and Shane‘s patience, professionalism, knowledge, and leadership.

I will miss the fun, excitement, and everything else attached to it. It sure felt like it was the First Of Summer.
