Get. Set. Go.

Recently, I just celebrated my 5th year anniversary in Aegis Peoplesupport. I got a watch from the company as a gift. For me, it represents my journey. It is a reminder that every time spent was worthwhile. And for that I am grateful.

My Aegis journey was 5 years in the making. Well, five years and a half. I had to wait six months before I started training. Cliché as it may sound, it was worth the wait. As soon as I stepped in the training room, I knew I was in for a ride. From the New Hire Orientation Training (NHO) to the Client Specific Training (CST), I was having a blast. I would say mainly because I got everything that I needed to become successful at that time – the training materials, the guidance from my trainer, the help from my mentors from QA Team and Operations, and all the perks that came with it. I graduated from training, became one of the top performers in Operations, while having the time of my life.

After 2 years, I got promoted as a Training and Quality Admin Assistant. It was a dream-come-true for me at that time. Imagine yesterday, I was just one of those trainees listening intently to my trainers and now I am going to be working with them. Not only that, I know I have the best people to help me grow more as an Aegisite.  I wasn’t wrong.

After a year, I officially became part of the Training Team as a Trainer. TCP (Training Certification Program), several calibration sessions and refresher courses from Career and Development Team thereafter, I was ready for battle. We ran classes left and right, met people from all walks of life, and you know what? I was enjoying every single bit of it. It is because Aegis set me up for success. Although success as we know doesn’t mean there will be no struggles along the way. Let me tell you this, there was a lot! But with things like NHO, CST, and TCP, plus of course the people I work with, I was ready. I was ready to reach a new height and go places. That new height came in a form of a US Visa.

A couple of months back, we were sent to Killeen, Texas to help set-up an account. 8,000 miles away from Palawan Training Room in Aegis Peoplesupport Center, I was training our counterparts in Baylor Training Room in Aegis Killeen Site. I brought with me the values I got from the time I got hired as an e-rep. I made sure to share the best practices I learned while doing several reports for the Training and Quality team and while going through each training class as a Trainer. It was the highlight of my 5-year Aegis journey. It was a true testament to the Aegis Employee Value Preposition that when you GET in Aegis, you will be SET up for success, and will GO places. It may not happen after a year you get hired, might not be after half a decade of being employed, you might even wait for six more months, but it will happen. It may be in a form of a promotion, an incentive, or a trip to Pagudpud.

Now, I am back running classes again but this time with a different perspective – aside from honing future travel experts, I am committed to making sure that my co-Aegisites get to experience the Get Set Go; that when it’s their time to get the watch, they’ll have their own wonderful journey to share.

Someone asked me recently, “What made you stay in Aegis?” I immediately answered, it’s the people. It is the people I worked with, I am working with, and I’ll be working with. It’s been a wonderful journey, and I know it’s just getting started. Together with the watch, I will treasure and cherish this experience forever. On to my 10th year Aegis journey!

Let the stories be untold =)

Team MNL, Number 1!

Team MNL, Number 1!

I don’t think I have thanked my Killeen Teammates enough. They were awesome! I am going to miss them all. They were there for me through thick and thin, even the last minute.

Excess Baggage

That was them taking care of my excess baggage, at the airport. They didn’t leave me; made sure that everything’s gonna be alright. Kind of summarizes our days and weeks together.

Bosses Annaloren, Rona, and Chan, thanks thanks.

Partner and Beh Beh, thank you.

Kathie, Gracie, and John, thank you so much.

To my newly found friends, here’s to your kindness, cheers! I love you all!

Tough Five – Other Keme

Posted: April 9, 2012 in It's Killeen Me

Be with my family, that’s a given of course. But what are the other things I’m looking forward to be doing after I arrived back? Here are the top five on my list:

5.) Watch A Movie– The Avengers? Prolly. I just wanted to sit in that Powerplant Cinema chair again and enjoy watching a movie.

4.) Go To Rockwell – in line with the previous entry, i just wanted to set my foot again in what I call my comfort place.

3.) Get A Haircut– I’ll definitely get a mohawk. Raaaaar!

2.) Relax In A Spa– I badly want, and need a good milk bath and massage.

1.) Rock and roll in Saguijo– I’m gonna hunt you down Urbandub. I know there’s a schedule for you in guijo come May. I’ll see you soon.

I had a wonderful time, Killeen. It was  a great experience. The people here are generally nice. I will for surely miss the southern hospitality; it did make me feel like I never left home. Again, from the bottom my hypothalamus, THANK YOU.

Hmmmm, let me see, how did I spend my weekends again here in Killeen? I can’t remember really. If you ask me, I mostly spent it in my room, sleeping, watching ESPN all weekend long, doing grocery, laundry, and then ESPN again. That’s basically how I spent my weekend here. Haha, I heard that! Who are you calling a loser?! Well then I’m a loser who enjoyed being a winner in my own right. Wow, did I just say that? Damn I’m a genius! That’s original okay; I have the rights on that quote. Is that how you call it? Like when someone says something really awesome and you quote him/her? Please put my name after using that loser quote that I metioned, alright? Please?

Going back to my weekend escapades, let me reminisce… My first weekend here, we went to Killeen Mall, very exciting thank you. Second weekend I think was when we had our TGIF dinner but that was about it; slept all Saturday and Sunday that weekend. Third one was I think when they went to Austin and I stayed in my room all weekend. Fourth one was when we watched a movie? Fifth, was when we were looking for a Karaoke place and ended up dinning instead. Sixth, was the Karaoke night. And then this weekend. How am I spending it? Well, stuck in my room again, no surprise there, still battling my shoulder pain. I guess all the stresses is taking a toll or perhaps it’s because it’s holy week and God has reminded me of all my sins; like carrying a cross and asking me to repent. Right now, as I type in my thoughts away, I’m listening to Incubus’ music which kind of summarizes my Killeen trip:

“remind me that we’ll always have each other when everything else is gone.”

“but I need you to know that I care and I miss you”

“pardon me while I burst into flames”

“i wish you were here…”

Yep, i heard you again. Sucks to be me right? F*ck you! I think one of these days, wordpress will ban from using this blog site.

So, let me enjoy my last weekend here. There’s Bulls versus Knicks playing on ABC. My laundry waiting for me. I have no more food to eat and it’s time to do grocery again in a bit. Training syllabus needs to be updated. Killeen, thank you for making my stay here a memorable one. I think we kind of jive together. And here’s to our friendship, “goodbye. nice to know you.”

Heaven In Killeen

It’s the best weekend by far. I thought I was gonna go crazy in there! I found heaven in Killeen!

Felt like a kid in a toy store! woooohooo!

It definitely felt like there’s so little time, so much book to browse, buy, and devour! Okay, maybe not the last part. But, it was really heaven! I will for surely be back there before my time is over here. I still have to go back there and get my white mocha from Barnes and Noble Starbucks, buy that Jim Collins’ books, and that Chocolate War book:

Here’s what I got:

Apple, Inc.

I stayed for a total of about an hour and a half and you know it wasn’t enough. But I’ll take it. You know what they say, it’s quality over quantity. All the stress washed away. Thank you God. Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

My Sunday Date - RHCP, Nirvana, Apple.

Imagine Joy discussing downline exchange in class… “So, you compute for the tax and then keme keme. Understood?” =P
